SkyFall P1-SUN Interceptor Drone Profile
The P1-SUN interceptor is a Ukrainian counter-drone made by SkyFall to shoot down Shahed-type attack drones. A SkyFall representative put its price at about $1,000 in a February 2026 interview relayed by Defender Media.
Reported top speeds run from 310 km/h (Reuters via UNITED24 Media) to 450 km/h (a SkyFall representative via Defender Media). SkyFall rates its newer P1-SUN JetKiller, built for jet-powered Shaheds, at up to 370 km/h.

What the public record establishes
SkyFall and Ukrainian officials credit the P1-SUN with shooting down thousands of Shahed-type drones in the Ukraine-Russia war, and no source used here independently verifies any of these totals. Hanna Hvozdiar said in April 2026 that P1-SUN interceptors downed more than 3,000 Shahed-type drones in 2026, according to Euromaidan Press.
Reuters reported in July 2026 that the P1-SUN had destroyed more than 5,500 Russian drones since November 2025, according to UNITED24 Media. SkyFall told Militarnyi that JetKiller interceptors destroyed Russian Geran-5 jet-powered drones twice. The Lasar's Group unit of Ukraine's National Guard flew both, and a photo caption dates the first to September 2026.
The distinction between platform identity and event attribution matters. A manufacturer page can establish what a drone is; an official military release, UN report, or conflict-monitoring source is needed to establish where it appears in a war. Where those records do not align, this page keeps the uncertainty visible.
This is a non-operational reference page. It explains the manufacturer, platform family, and public conflict record without providing instructions for building, targeting, deploying, or modifying a weapon system.
What P1-SUN Is and Its Reported Specs
The P1-SUN is a Ukrainian counter-drone interceptor made by SkyFall to destroy Shahed-type attack drones. Breaking Defense reported that SkyFall debuted the P1-SUN at the Dubai Airshow in November 2025, where a SkyFall representative said it can take on Iranian-made Shaheds.
Defender Media says the P1-SUN targets Shaheds, Gerans and similar drones, and can also target helicopters. SkyFall has since shown two variants: the P1-SUN Long, with an onboard artificial intelligence (AI) module, and the P1-SUN JetKiller, built for jet-powered drones.

How Fast Is the P1-SUN Interceptor?
Published top speeds for the baseline P1-SUN interceptor range from 310 km/h to 450 km/h, and the sources do not reconcile them. In November 2025, Defender Media said SkyFall's initial top speed of 300 km/h had been raised by 50%, without giving a new number.
In February 2026, an unnamed SkyFall representative told Oboronka, as relayed by Defender Media, that top speed rose from 300 km/h to 450 km/h.
A 50% increase on 300 km/h works out to 450 km/h, so the two Defender Media reports agree with each other. UNITED24 Media, citing Reuters in July 2026, gave the standard P1-SUN 310 km/h, compared with 370 km/h for the JetKiller. None of the sources used here explains the 140 km/h gap between the 310 km/h and 450 km/h figures.
Defender Media gave the baseline P1-SUN an operating ceiling of up to 5,000 m in November 2025. The SkyFall representative put it at 5 km in February 2026. The 9,000 m figure belongs to the JetKiller, according to SkyFall's statements to Militarnyi and Kyiv Independent. Armada International attributes 370 km/h and 9,000 m to the "P1-SUN" without naming the JetKiller, and those numbers match SkyFall's JetKiller figures.
How Much Does the P1-SUN Interceptor Cost?
The P1-SUN costs about $1,000 per unit, according to a SkyFall representative interviewed in February 2026 and Reuters reporting relayed by LIGA.net in March 2026.
The SkyFall representative quoted by Defender Media said there is no room for further cost cuts. LIGA.net, citing Reuters, said the $1,000 figure applies to Ukraine's Defense Forces, and a SkyFall representative using the name "Ares" said the export price could be higher.
A higher figure circulates under a Euromaidan Press headline saying the P1-SUN costs "about $3,000 a piece". The article attributes "an average cost of up to $3,000" to Hanna Hvozdiar, and that average covers Ukrainian interceptor drones generally. Euromaidan Press marks the page as advertorial. The quoted $3,000 is not given as a P1-SUN price.
No source used here publishes a Shahed unit cost, so a cost-per-kill ratio for the P1-SUN against Shaheds cannot be worked out from these sources. This site's cost-per-intercept guide sets interceptor prices against the threats they shoot down. No price has been published for the P1-SUN Long or the JetKiller.
Construction, AI Module and Production
Defender Media, citing Bloomberg's report from the Dubai Airshow stand, said a SkyFall representative described the P1-SUN as modular with a 3D-printed airframe. That is the only source used here for the 3D-printed claim, and no source confirms it for the Long or JetKiller variants.
SkyFall unveiled the P1-SUN Long at Eurosatory 2026 in Paris as a baseline P1-SUN with an integrated AI module for autonomous target detection and engagement, according to Defender Media. SkyFall gives a detection range of up to 1 km depending on the optical payload, and says the neural-network algorithms can be updated remotely in the field.
SkyFall says the module runs on a standard central processing unit (CPU) without graphics processing units (GPUs), which it says helps production stability during GPU shortages.
SkyFall said in November 2025, per Defender Media, that it was already producing thousands of P1-SUN drones a month, and the February 2026 interview repeated that November output. The 50,000-a-month figure is a capacity estimate or plan: Reuters via LIGA.net reported it in March 2026 as possible output, and SkyFall gave it in July 2026 as planned JetKiller capacity. No source used here reports actual monthly output beyond "thousands".
Reported Combat Results
Every P1-SUN kill total in these sources comes from SkyFall or Ukrainian officials, and none has been independently verified. The totals cover different dates, scopes and target types. Those totals cannot be added together or ranked against each other.
The sources also disagree on Hvozdiar's title: Euromaidan Press calls her adviser to Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, while Defender Media calls her Deputy Defence Minister. The 10,000 figure from SkyFall CEO Mykola Makovieiev in the Airbus press release covers SkyFall interceptors as a group and does not name the P1-SUN.
Defender Media also reported that Aerotim released video of P1-SUN interceptors launched from a light An-28 aircraft shooting down Shahed drones, which Aerotim claims was a world first. For the P1-SUN Long, Defender Media says it has "reportedly" achieved dozens of confirmed Shahed kills, with no exact number given.

What Is the SkyFall JetKiller?
The P1-SUN JetKiller is a P1-SUN version SkyFall built to counter jet-powered drones, first shown at the Farnborough International Airshow on 20 July 2026, according to Militarnyi and Kyiv Independent. SkyFall's JetKiller figures are a speed of up to 370 km/h, a range of up to 30 km and an altitude of up to 9,000 m.
SkyFall also gives an endurance of up to 15 minutes and a 500 g warhead.
SkyFall told Militarnyi its AI terminal guidance can detect and engage targets up to 1 km away, faster than a human can react. JetKiller comes in day/night, analog or digital camera, or AI-module configurations, per SkyFall. A SkyFall representative told Reuters, as reported by UNITED24 Media, that development began about three months before the unveiling.
Yurii Cherevashenko, a Ukrainian Air Force commander, told Reuters that 15% to 20% of Russia's current Shaheds have jet engines.
Reuters reported that the JetKiller completed combat testing and reportedly destroyed more than a dozen jet-powered Shaheds, while Ukrainska Pravda and Militarnyi report successful interceptions without a number. SkyFall planned mass production from August 2026 at a capacity of up to 50,000 units a month, and no source used here confirms production started.
Militarnyi says a standard P1-SUN had already shot down a jet-powered Shahed, reported on 26 December, with no year given.
SkyFall later told Militarnyi that a JetKiller flown by the Lasar's Group unit of Ukraine's National Guard destroyed a Russian Geran-5 jet-powered unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). A photo caption dates that kill to September 2026. SkyFall reported a second Geran-5 kill by the same unit. Footage of it circulated on 2 October 2026, per Militarnyi.
Militarnyi, citing Ukraine's Defense Intelligence, gives the Geran-5 a range of about 950 km, while Armada International gives about 70 km, and no source reconciles the two.
P1-SUN Among Ukraine's Interceptors
The P1-SUN is one of several Ukrainian interceptor drones built against Shahed-type attack drones, which this site groups in its guide to Ukrainian interceptor drones. Forbes Ukraine lists the P1-SUN among the five most effective Ukrainian interceptor drones, according to Euromaidan Press, which also says SkyFall entered the interceptor niche late.
Euromaidan Press says the P1-SUN was scheduled to enter production in November 2025, and UNITED24 Media, citing Reuters, says it was introduced that month. This site also profiles the Sting interceptor, the Octopus interceptor, the LITAVR interceptor and the Geran-3 and Shahed-238. No source here compares P1-SUN figures with Sting or Octopus.
Export and Foreign Interest
Japan is the only country these sources report as having signed a contract for SkyFall interceptor drones. Japanese Defense Minister Shinjiro Koizumi said at a 9 October briefing: "The Ministry of Defense has already signed a contract with Ukraine's Skyfall to acquire interceptor drones," according to Kyiv Post.
Kyiv Post says Japan is working on early delivery, and the contract's value, quantity, model and delivery date are not stated.
In March 2026, LIGA.net, citing Reuters, reported that the United States (US) and Qatar were negotiating to buy Ukrainian interceptor drones, possibly the P1-SUN. SkyFall estimated it could produce up to 50,000 interceptors a month and export 5,000 to 10,000 without harming Ukraine. That export range equals 10% to 20% of the 50,000 figure.
SkyFall's representative "Ares" said exports would happen only if they did not weaken Ukraine's defence, and that SkyFall had inquiries from allies and Middle Eastern countries. At the Dubai Airshow, a representative told Breaking Defense that exports need a regulatory framework and government-to-government agreements.
The same representative said meeting North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO)-aligned contractors was SkyFall's main reason for attending, and SkyFall officials asked for anonymity "for security reasons".
What Is Not Published
The sources used here publish no dimensions, weight or propulsion details for any P1-SUN variant, and no unit price for the JetKiller or P1-SUN Long. They also do not show whether JetKiller serial production began in August 2026 as planned, or whether the US and Qatar talks led to a contract.
No P1-SUN kill total has independent verification, because every figure comes from SkyFall or Ukrainian officials. Japan's order has no published model, quantity or price, so the Kyiv Post report does not establish that Japan bought the P1-SUN. For new figures, read SkyFall's statements to Militarnyi alongside Reuters reporting relayed by UNITED24 Media.
