A drone stock is any publicly traded company whose disclosed revenue depends materially on unmanned systems — the airframe, the autonomy stack, the payload, the ground control segment, or the sustainment contract behind them. That definition is deliberately wider than "companies that make drones," because the airframe is often the least defensible part of the value chain. It is also narrower than the way most retail lists use the label: a company that once announced a drone pilot program is not a drone stock, it is a company with a press release.
The practical test is disclosure. If you cannot find unmanned systems described as a segment, a product line, or a named program in the company's own filings on SEC EDGAR, you do not have a drone stock — you have a narrative.
