XAG Drones: Every Model in the Agriculture Lineup

XAG builds agricultural drones that spray liquid, spread granules and survey fields. The largest model, the P150 Max, lifts 80 kg of payload.

What XAG Builds

XAG is a Chinese manufacturer of agricultural drones and farm robots, based in Guangzhou. Its aircraft do three jobs on a field. They spray liquid pesticide or fertiliser, spread dry granules and seed, and fly a mapping pass. That mapping pass produces the field boundary the other two jobs follow.

The product line splits into two families that share one control app. P-series and V-series aircraft fly. R-series rovers drive along the ground and spray orchards and vineyards, where a rotor downwash would push spray into the canopy from the wrong angle.

XAG sells no consumer or camera drone. Every current model is sized for commercial field work. The aircraft weigh far more than a photography drone, and most countries regulate them as agricultural aircraft rather than as drones. That classification decides what an operator has to hold before flying one over a crop, and the specification sheet does not.

XAG lists eight aircraft and two ground rovers in its current catalogue. The table below groups them by what an operator would buy each one to do.

P150 Max and P150 Specifications Compared

The P150 Max and the P150 differ by about 10 kg of payload and one nozzle kit. Both are four-rotor aircraft with the same 115 L granule container, so the choice between them comes down to spray volume and flight speed rather than to a different machine.

What Else an XAG Buyer Has to Purchase

An XAG aircraft is one part of a system an operator has to buy whole. The P150 Max runs on the B141050 battery at 1050 Wh, and the P150 on the B13970S at 975 Wh with a rated 1500 charge cycles. A spray day needs several packs in rotation plus a generator to charge them, because a single pack does not cover a working shift.

Field position comes from a separate box. XAG supplies the XRTK6 Pro as a portable base station rather than building real-time kinematic (RTK) correction into the airframe. A base station that travels between blocks keeps the aircraft on line across a whole farm, and it is a line item a quote can quietly leave out.

The R100 and R200 rovers cover the work the aircraft cannot. In an orchard or a vineyard the spray target sits under the canopy, and a rotor pushes spray downward past it. A rover drives between rows and sprays sideways into the canopy, which reaches leaf undersides an aircraft misses. The APC2 AutoPilot Console ties the aircraft and rovers to one control app, so a mapping flight feeds the route both machines follow.

How XAG Sells Its Drones

XAG sells through authorized distributors and does not run a public online store. That structure is the reason a search for a local price usually returns a reseller listing rather than a figure from XAG.

XAG does not publish a country-by-country dealer list. Its distribution network page carries a partner application form and one contact address, overseas@xa.com. It does not name distributors per market. A buyer in South Africa, Australia or anywhere else outside China writes to that address and gets routed to whoever covers their territory.

XAG has published a notice asking buyers to purchase through authorized channels and to confirm any dealer not listed by XAG with an authorized distributor first. Treat a reseller price as that reseller's price. XAG publishes no list price for any model, so a quoted figure cannot be checked against the manufacturer.

What US Rules Mean for an XAG Buyer

Two separate US rules apply to an XAG aircraft, and neither one is about the drone's specifications. The first governs whether the aircraft can be sold in the country at all. The second governs whether an operator can legally spray with it.

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) added foreign-manufactured drones and drone critical components to its Covered List in December 2025. Temporary exemptions followed in January 2026 and run to January 1, 2027, as summarised in this Morgan Lewis client alert. The action covers foreign-made aircraft as a category rather than naming each manufacturer. It is prospective and applies to newly manufactured equipment, so it does not ground aircraft that were already authorized. Check the FCC's own Covered List FAQ for UAS for the status that applies on the day of a purchase.

The second rule is the one that stops most US buyers. Spraying any substance for agricultural purposes requires a Part 137 Agricultural Aircraft Operator Certificate from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), on top of a Part 107 remote pilot certificate. Every XAG aircraft in the current lineup weighs well over the FAA's 55-pound threshold once loaded, because the P150 alone carries 70 kg of payload. That puts it in the group that also needs a Section 44807 exemption before the Part 137 certificate can be issued.

Which Buyers XAG Suits

XAG aircraft fit a contractor spraying large blocks of row crops who already holds the certificates to fly them. The economics turn on hectares covered per day, and the P-series is built for that number rather than for a grower flying a few hours a season.

XAG does not suit a US buyer who wants to spray this season and has no Part 137 certificate yet. That process runs through a Section 44807 exemption first, and an aircraft sitting in a shed during the approval wait earns nothing. It also does not suit anyone who needs a published price before committing, because XAG does not publish one and a distributor quote is the only figure available.

Two changes would move our answer. If XAG published per-country distributors and list prices, the buying process would stop being the main obstacle for growers outside China. If the FCC exemptions lapse on January 1, 2027 without replacement, the US question stops being about certificates and becomes about whether new aircraft can be imported at all. Are XAG drones banned in the United States?

XAG is not named individually on the FCC Covered List. Where can I buy an XAG drone in South Africa?

XAG does not publish a distributor list for South Africa or for any other individual country. Its distribution network page carries a partner application form and the address overseas@xa.com. That address is the route XAG gives buyers who want the distributor covering their territory. Resellers advertising XAG aircraft in South Africa are not necessarily authorized. XAG asks buyers to confirm any unlisted dealer with an authorized distributor before paying.

How much does an XAG P150 cost?

XAG publishes no list price for the P150 or for any other model, so there is no manufacturer figure to quote. Prices that appear in search results come from individual resellers and cover different configurations, spare battery counts and charging equipment. A quote is only comparable to another quote when both cover the same nozzle kit, battery set and generator.

What is the difference between the XAG P150 and the P150 Max?

The P150 Max carries 80 kg against the P150's 70 kg, holds 80 L of spray liquid against 70 L, and flies at up to 20 m/s against 18 m/s. Its four-nozzle kit pushes 46 L/min against the P150's 30 L/min. That is the larger practical gap, because flow rate sets how fast either aircraft can fly at a given application rate. Both use the same 115 L granule container and the same 4D imaging radar.

Is XAG the drone company the same as XAG the silver ticker?

No. XAG is the ISO 4217 currency code for one troy ounce of silver, which is why searches for the term return precious-metal price charts alongside drone results. The drone manufacturer is XAG Co., Ltd. of Guangzhou, formerly XAircraft, and it is privately held with no listed common stock. Nothing in a silver price quote relates to the aircraft.
