First Breach drone program status as of September 2026

First Breach (Nasdaq: FBDT) has shown a proof-of-concept airframe in free flight. Its own flight controller has not yet been tested combined with the airframe, and every production figure is a target First Breach set for itself.

The First Breach drone program reports that a four-rotor prototype flew untethered on commercial flight electronics, according to a Sept 23, 2026 release published on StockTitan. First Breach Inc. (Nasdaq: FBDT) describes itself as a defense technologies company focused on vertically integrated ammunition production and unmanned aerial systems (UAS).

The release is datelined Hagerstown, Maryland. First Breach is a micro-cap with no disclosed orders. Every production figure in the release is First Breach's own target, and each one is conditional on development, testing and manufacturing readiness.

What First Breach Has Flown

First Breach has flown its proprietary drone prototype untethered, with the airframe, propulsion and core vehicle systems in free flight on commercial flight electronics. That untethered flight followed a first flight First Breach announced on Aug 25, 2026. The Sept 23 release does not give the date or the duration of the untethered flight.

The flight controller First Breach calls its own has not yet been tested combined with the airframe. Hellbender, Inc. developed it with First Breach under a strategic agreement, and it runs open-source Betaflight firmware. The release states that the airframe and the controller are separate stages and that combined testing is still required.

Chief executive officer (CEO) Jeffrey Low described the milestone this way: "Untethered flight is the point where a drone stops being a test article and starts being a vehicle." Chief operating officer (COO) Jordan Low said First Breach is proving components separately before combining them. Integrating the proprietary controller into the aircraft for further testing is the next step the release names.

First Breach Drone Prototype Specifications

First Breach lists the prototype as a four-rotor Class 1 platform weighing about 2.2 kg all-up, and it labels every figure proof of concept and subject to change. The table below restates First Breach's numbers. No independent test result is published in the sources used here.

First Breach lists about 10 minutes of endurance at a 50 km/h cruise speed and an effective range of 2 km.

The Hellbender Agreement

Under the Hellbender agreement, First Breach owns the drone platforms and related intellectual property (IP) and will control manufacturing and commercialization. Hellbender provides engineering, design, technical support and component manufacturing.

The deal terms are unpublished.

Targets Versus Evidence for the First Breach Drone

The Sept 23 release reports the untethered airframe flight on commercial electronics, after a first flight announced Aug 25, 2026; the flight controller is developed but not yet tested combined with the airframe. Initial prototypes, production scaling and the weekly capacity figure are targets.

More than 2,500 drones per week, multiplied by 52 weeks, would mean more than 130,000 drones a year. The release does not say how First Breach would reach that rate, and it ties the target to development, testing and manufacturing readiness.

ItemStatus per the Sept 23, 2026 release
Untethered airframe flight on commercial flight electronicsReported as done
Proprietary flight controller (Hellbender, Betaflight)Developed; not yet flown on the airframe
Combined airframe and controller testingStill required
Initial prototypesTarget: Q4 2026
Production scalingTarget start: Q2 2027
Capacity above 2,500 drones per weekTarget, conditional on readiness
Targets are First Breach's own and carry forward-looking-statement warnings.

What To Verify Before Relying on It

The release carries standard forward-looking-statement warnings and refers readers to First Breach's Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filings for risk factors. Read the full Sept 23 release for that language before you treat any date in it as a plan.

Several facts an investor would want are not in the release: financing, cash position, revenue, orders, customers, contracts, certifications and pricing. Combined airframe and controller test results are also absent, along with any valuation figure.

StockTitan's page also listed a later Oct 13, 2026 First Breach release about an autonomous flight. Only that headline was seen for this page, so its content is not covered here.

What Would Change This Read

A small set of disclosures would move First Breach from a reported prototype flight toward a program with outside evidence. Each one answers a gap in the Sept 23 release.

DisclosureGap it would close
A flight with the Hellbender controller integrated into the airframeThe release says combined testing is still required
A named customer or orderThe release discloses no orders, customers or contracts
A financing or cash disclosure in SEC filingsFinancing and cash position are unpublished
A Blue UAS pathwayNo Blue UAS status is published in the sources used here
Watch for these in later First Breach releases and filings.
